2 photosAmtico herringbone through an open-plan kitchen
Amtico LVT laid in herringbone right through a kitchen and dining space, tight to the island and the doorways.
A wet room floor is really a waterproof tray you can walk on. The whole floor falls gently towards the drain so water runs away, and the vinyl has to seal completely at the drain, at the seams and up the walls.
The work starts underneath: the floor is formed to the right falls towards the drain, then smoothed so the vinyl lies perfectly flat. The vinyl is then laid, dressed into the drain fitting so water passes straight through, and coved up the walls so the floor and walls meet in a smooth curve instead of a corner.
Any seams are heat welded, and the top edge of the cove is finished with a neat capping. The surface is slip resistant, which matters most in the one room where the floor is always wet.
