A runner shows off the staircase at the sides while giving a soft, quiet tread down the middle. It is fitted over underlay and kept an even distance from each side of every step, which matters most on winders and turning stairs where each tread is a different shape.
Bound edges give the runner a crisp finish and stop it fraying, and the runner is fitted tight into the back of each tread so it does not creep.
