Amtico LVT laid in herringbone right through a kitchen and dining space, tight to the island and the doorways.
Hall and dining room · Domestic
Running one herringbone floor through several rooms makes a house feel joined up, but only if the pattern lines up everywhere. The setting out starts from the main sight line, usually the view from the front door, and the pattern is then carried through each doorway so the rows keep running true.
Where the floor changes level, the step is finished in the same LVT with a matching edge, so it reads as part of the floor rather than a separate strip. In the small rooms like the cloakroom, the blocks are cut tight round the pan and pipework and finished neatly at the door.
As with any LVT, the subfloor is prepared first. The base is checked, repaired and smoothed so the blocks sit flat and the joins stay tight.
