15 photosPattern-laid LVT through a bar and club
Wood-effect LVT laid in a parquet pattern through the bar, booths and walkways, with entrance mats set flush in brass trims and nosed edges on every step.
A depot canteen gets used by drivers and engineers coming straight in off the yard, so the floor takes wet boots, spilled tea and a steady stream of people at every hour. Non-slip safety vinyl suits a room like this: the grip is built into the surface, it wipes clean, and a dark grey hides the wear of a working building.
In a large open room the vinyl goes down in wide sheets to keep the joins to a minimum. Each seam is grooved and heat welded with a matching rod, so the floor becomes one continuous surface with nowhere for water or dirt to get in.
Round the edges the vinyl is coved: formed up the wall on a cove former and finished with a neat top edge, including round the columns and along the kitchen run. That gives a smooth curve where floor meets wall, which is quicker to clean and stops mops catching a corner.
As with any sheet vinyl, the work starts underneath. The old floor comes up, the base is checked, repaired and smoothed so it is flat and sound, because a smooth sheet shows anything left beneath it.
