Wood-effect LVT for a golf club function room
A club function room has to cope with everything from a wake to a wedding: dancing, tables dragged across it, spilled drinks and a mop at the end of the night. It also has to look right in a room with panelled walls and big bay windows. A wood-effect plank LVT gives the warmth of timber with a surface that is far easier to keep clean.
The first job in a room like this is lifting the old floor and dealing with what is left underneath. Old adhesive and tile residue are taken back, the base is checked, and any dips and joints are patched. The grey patches you can see in the progress photos are that repair work, done before the new floor goes anywhere near it.
With the base flat and sound, the planks are set out from the centre of the room so the lines run true to the longest walls and the cuts at the edges are even. Each plank is glued down, rolled, and finished tight to the skirting, the bar front and the curve of each bay.
A club has to keep running, so a job like this has to be planned around its bookings. The result is one continuous floor from the bar to the windows, ready for the next event.
