15 photosPattern-laid LVT through a bar and club
Wood-effect LVT laid in a parquet pattern through the bar, booths and walkways, with entrance mats set flush in brass trims and nosed edges on every step.
At a busy station entrance, most of the dirt and water that ends up on the floors inside comes in on shoes. A proper entrance matting system catches it at the door. Aluminium systems like Gradus use rigid rails with hard-wearing inserts between them: the rails scrape, the inserts brush and absorb, and the dirt drops through into the well below where it can be cleaned out.
These mats sit in a recessed well so the top of the mat finishes level with the floor around it. That matters in a public building: nothing to trip on, nothing for a wheelchair, pram or suitcase to catch, and no edge to lift over time.
Fitting starts with the well itself. It has to be the right depth, flat and square, with a frame set in that the mat can sit inside. The mat is then cut to size, laid in with the rails running the right way for the flow of people, and checked so it sits level all round. The surrounding floor was protected throughout, which you can see in the photo.
